Having seen both couples and individuals reporting that each has it worse than the other, its important to note that the old addage "The grass is greener on the other side" is not only accurate but extremely appropos in this instance. Too often we diminish the advantages and pleasures of our own lives and become obsessed with the injustice of others good fortune. Though its a human instinct to look to the other, without the ability to pull back and find our own fortune, happiness is unlikely. Much to the dismay of those that seek the external to find joy, the truth is that esteem is a phenomenon found within.
